In this episode Talysha & Jackson give clinicians an insight into utilising the VAS (Visual Analog Scale - of Pain) & RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion), to help your clients dose their rehabilitation exercises.
The inverse relationship is very important for progressively loading tissue, to increase the load-tolerating capacity & restore function.
That is, as pain/reactivity decreases, applied load & complexity can increase.
By utilising the VAS - RPE we can help decrease the likelihood of a client 'over dosing' their rehabilitation exercises, leading to an injury flare.
